Same scenes for everyone

Daily Challenge #1

6 rounds, 60 seconds each. Only your first attempt counts on today’s board, so make it count.

Pick your challenge

3 lives. Miss or run out of time and you lose one. Find him 3 times in a row to win one back.

How to play

  1. Zoom and pan. Scroll or pinch to zoom, then drag to look around. Keys: + - 0.
  2. Click Scout. A wrong click costs a life, so be sure before you click.
  3. Score big. 1,000 points per find, plus up to 1,000 more for speed. You get one hint per game (H), and it costs 300.
  4. Chain combos. Each find in a row adds ×0.25 to your score, up to ×2. Every third in a row wins back a lost life.

Questions

Is Crowd Seeker free to play?

Yes. It runs in your browser with nothing to install. You can play as a guest or sign in with Google to join the leaderboard.

How does scoring work?

Each find is worth 1,000 points plus a speed bonus of up to 1,000, multiplied by your combo (up to ×2 for finds in a row). You get one hint per game and it costs 300 points. You have three lives: a wrong click or running out of time costs one, and every third find in a row wins one back.

What game modes are there?

Classic is a fixed number of rounds on the level you choose. Survival is endless and steps up a difficulty every three rounds until your lives run out. Time Attack gives you three minutes of Medium scenes to find Scout as often as you can, and a miss costs five seconds. Zen has no clock, no lives and free hints: just relax and search.

What is the Daily Challenge?

Once a day everyone gets the same six scenes. Your first attempt goes on that day’s leaderboard, and playing on consecutive days builds your streak.

What changes between difficulty levels?

There are six: Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert, Impossible and Nightmare. Each one up has more rounds, bigger crowds, a smaller Scout, shorter timers and more look-alikes who share one of his trademarks.

How do player levels work?

You earn XP from every game (a tenth of your score, plus bonuses for clearing a level and finishing the Daily). Each level needs more XP than the last, so climbing from Rookie Spotter to Legend of the Stripes takes real dedication.

Are the scenes the same every time?

No. Every round paints a brand-new scene, so you can't memorise where Scout is hiding.
